Accessibility statement
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Emivita S.r.l. is committed to making its website accessible to people with disabilities, in line with the spirit of Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act) and the non-discrimination principles of Italian Law 4/2004 (the “Stanca Act”). This statement applies to the website pizzeriaemivita.it.
1. Scope
The website is the “showcase” site of a small private company (S.r.l.). It does not provide e-commerce, online transactional bookings, banking services or audio-visual services within the meaning of Article 3 of Italian Legislative Decree 82/2022. As such, compliance with Directive (EU) 2019/882 is not legally mandatory for the Controller.
Nevertheless, we have chosen to adopt, where reasonable, the WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines as a voluntary technical reference in order to deliver a usable experience to the widest possible audience.
2. Conformance status
The website has been designed to meet the WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements for textual content, semantic structure, contrast and keyboard navigation.
We consider the site to be in a state of “partial conformance” because some ancillary multimedia elements (home page ambient video, custom cursor) remain purely decorative and do not carry essential information. Such elements are automatically disabled when the user’s operating system reports the “reduce motion” preference.
3. Accessibility features implemented
- Correct semantic structure with a single <h1> per page and a consistent heading hierarchy.
- Dynamic lang attribute on the <html> element for Italian and English.
- “Skip to main content” link visible on keyboard focus.
- Highly visible focus outline on every interactive element (WCAG 2.4.7).
- Colour contrast verified to meet the AA threshold of 4.5:1 for normal-size text.
- Respect for the system prefers-reduced-motion preference: the ambient video, parallax animations, sticky sections, tilt and ken burns effects and the velocity-reactive marquee are all disabled automatically.
- Magnetic effects on CTA buttons and 3D tilt on images are enabled only on devices with a fine pointer (hover: hover): they are disabled on touch devices and do not interfere with keyboard navigation nor with screen readers.
- Textual descriptions (alt) for informative images; empty alt for purely decorative images (including duplicated pizzas inside the parallax gallery).
- Accessible labels (aria-label) on buttons that have no visible text.
- Full keyboard navigation.
- Text can be resized up to 200% with no loss of functionality.
- Compatibility with the main screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
4. Non-accessible content
We disclose the following elements that are not fully conformant, together with the reason:
- Ambient home page video: has no audio track, is marked aria-hidden and is disabled in reduced-motion mode. It carries no textual information and therefore does not require captions.
- Scroll-driven animations (multi-row parallax gallery, sticky mission section, horizontal signature scroll, ken burns loops on team portraits, velocity-reactive marquee): are purely decorative, marked aria-hidden where appropriate and disabled when the reduced-motion preference is active. The corresponding textual content remains readable in a static layout.
- Interactive map on the Contact page (OpenStreetMap): the full address, the “Get directions” link and the phone number are also provided as text, guaranteeing an equivalent text-only alternative.
- Custom cursor and magnetic effects on buttons: purely decorative, disabled on touch devices and in reduced-motion mode; they do not intercept keyboard input nor change the cursor behaviour inside text inputs.
5. Preparation of this statement
